DDC Shut Down By Fire Department Raid
The fire department raided popular hutong livehouse Dusk Dawn Club (DDC) late last night, resulting in an immediate closure that left the owner rushing to reschedule his remaining May shows elsewhere.

"The door is sealed, we cannot do any shows in the upcoming days. We just made urgent negotiations with bands and other venues, trying our best to keep upcoming shows going," wrote owner 张锦灿 (Jincan Zhang, better known by his nickname 69) in an announcmeent to his WeChat followers.
Beijing music fans who bought tickets to the already re-arranged gigs can instead attend those shows at other venues around town, but unfortunately a couple of them have been canceled. Here's a full rundown (or click "Read more" for more):
When asked about how long the closure of the venue (located near Zhangzizhonglu subway station) would last, 69 told the Beijinger it will be temporary but "We don’t know how long it will be. I think it is a very, very bad time now for bars. So I have just rescheduled all the shows in May, and I will try my best to keep going later."
DDC's shockingly sudden shutdown comes on the heels of other tumultuous Beijing nightlife developments like police raids on a handful of bars across town, the permanent shuttering of Bungalow Tiki (supposedly due to a recent fire nearby), and rampant construction that has led to the demise of other popular bars – from Beixinqiao's Más to Xingfucun's BBC.
